History of the School
In the summer of 1990, we started off by running a three-month summer workshop and in October of that same year we started teaching. And this was the founding of the Marratxí Pottery School.
One year after its creation, the school participated in the Pottery Trade Fair, offering its first workshop for students. The year after the school participated at the trade fair, it carried on with its educational workshops, gaining popularity and renown after the publication of a descriptive poster describing the production of traditional pieces. And both of these activities have been done without interruption until today.
The School is a reference point for the world of pottery, jointly with the pottery studios and the aforementioned Pottery Trade Fair. The centre is not part of the state education system and is therefore open to one and all. There are courses for adults that are part of the Town Council's training programmes.
In the summer monographic courses are held in which we centre and expand on knowledge in specific techniques.
